Axe throwing is a sport
It’s all about fair play, being nice to each other, and showing some true sportsmanship. Typically axe throwing sessions usually go in a similar way. You book a session with your friends, typically six to eight people, and the session begins with a quick intro to axe throwing and a lesson by a trained coach. Next you compete against your friends in a classic tournament style. The grand finale is a one-on-one completion to determine the ultimate winner.
The whole event lasts from two to three hours, that’s including the prep time and actual throwing. The price for group bookings is between $30 and $40 per person. There is no need to carry your own axe around with you (whew!) as they are given to each participant at the venue.

Some places have axe throwing leagues which last seven to eight weeks where you can secure your spot individually. How to throw an axe?
Every place has its own coaches and professionals who will explain the rules and teach you how to throw an axe—but the basics are the same no matter where you are. You need to stand straight and hold the axe with a firm grip like you would a baseball bat. The blade mustn’t be rotated to the left or right, it should be completely straight when you swing it. You can bring the axe back over your head, using both of your hands, and swing it straight forward, so when you release it the axe makes a single rotation in order to hit the target. The advanced players use one hand technique, but that method requires more training. You release axe only when your arm is parallel to the ground. This happens in a quick motion, so practice makes perfect!
