The Best Toronto Activities for Family Day

Those of us who remember a time before Family Day know that February can be a long, cold month without it. Family Day’s a great time to relax, recharge, and spend some quality time with the people who matter most. Take a look at these top picks for a perfect Family Day.

#1 – Hunt for clues in a family-friendly escape room

If you’ve got little kids but still want to experience the problem-solving game play of an escape room, check out Looking Glass Adventures on the Danforth. They welcome children —though they do recommend that your group have a good balance of grown ups and little kids in the game.

Perfect for: kids 8+

#2 – Check out bubble soccer for the day

Bubble soccer will have you all falling over yourselves laughing as you struggle to maneuver in bubble suits. It’s great exercise for you, it’ll completely tire your kids out, and it’s totally safe. Check out PVP Sports located in Richmond Hill where you can book a private event for one hour or two. They have their own bubble soccer facility so you won’t have to worry about finding your own field. There’s a minimum of 8 players for a private booking, so maybe round up the neighbors for this one.

Perfect for: kids 8+

#3 – Hit the rock climbing wall at Boulderz

Go rock climbing for the day at Boulderz Climbing Center in Etobicoke. This gym is made for families, with a special family day pass rate, group youth climbing packages, and programs for kids 4 and up. Drop by with your family for the day and if the kids love it check out their youth climbing classes and camps. Note it’s one participating adult to every two kids or one non-participating adult to every three kids.

Perfect for: kids 4+

#4 – Be ninjas for the day at Ninjaz Canada

Ninja warrior training is super fun. Harness your kids’ never-ending energy and head over to Ninjaz Canada for the day where they can climb, crawl, and compete against each other until they are spent. Ninjaz Canada has a huge, colorful, and clean obstacle course where you can get a day pass for $35 each. Kids four years and older can play on the course—and there’s a special soft play area for tots under four.

Perfect for: kids 4–18

#5– Play a round of archery tag at Archer’s Arena

What better way to celebrate Family Day than with combat archery? But don’t worry, it’s completely safe. Archery tag is like archery combat meets dodgeball—all the arrows have foam-tips. At Archer’s Arena, this game is recommended for kids 10 and up—though kids as young as 8 can play, the consideration is really more about having the strength to pull the bow string back. Combat archery is $25 per player for 90 minutes of play, and before the game you’ll get full instructions and some practice rounds. Don’t let this become a Hunger Games scenario, so take them to a restaurant after to grab a bite and share battle stories.

Perfect for: kids 10–18
